One of my friends gave me a visit today to borrow a couple of my pc-tech books (which led to borrowing some of my PS2 games too.) Anyway, she told me of her uncle who decided to let go of a part of his Game & Watch Collection.
Yes, the same video games I used to play as a kid in the early 80's One of the few titles I had way back then was "Turtle Bridge"... (looks like the same one pictured below.) I used to play it a lot during my long waits on my countless doctor's appointments and even at school so I remembered having it confiscated by my teachers sometimes.

This sure brought a lot of memories....
Sure, I love my Nintendo DS, Playstation 2 and Gamecube right now but still Game & Watch had a few good titles that were good... HIGHLY REPETITIVE, YES... but VERY ADDICTIVE GAMES.
I talked to her uncle on the phone the titles he was willing to sell were not the ones I particularly liked so I'd rather not buy. But if there had been a title I would have liked to have, I wouldn't be able to afford it either. Since GAME & WATCH is one of the very first hand-held games in video gaming, every title still existing today would cost a lot. (My friend's uncle is selling his for $300-500 a title depending on how rare they are.) At that price range, if I had the $$$ I'd rather buy a PS 3!
But just the same it was good to remember these games. By the way, Nintendo DS has GAME & WATCH Collection 1 and 2 reviving some of these games for the Nintendo DS. I've added Game & Watch Collection 2 to my NDS Wishlist because of the games "Parachute" and "Octopus".
