Favorite Korean Leading Men (Part Two)

Here goes Part 2 of my Favorite Korean Leading Men list...

Song Il Gook ( 송일국 )
October 1, 1971

He's my "favorite king" in Korean Drama! I first saw him in a period drama, Jumong, where he portrayed Jumong himself. I was so impressed with him as a believable, wise and noble king that it prompted me to buy the series that propelled him to get the role of Jumong, Emperor of The Sea, wherein, he was the main villain, Yeom Moon. Even though, he was supposed to be the antagonist of the series, I can't help but feel sorry for his character, and the series actually got me to wanting to see more of Song Ii Gook in period dramas. In his last series, Kingdom of the Winds, he played the great grandson of Jumong, King Daemusin. He also has also appeared in other contemporary modern day series but I love seeing him in period drmas more.

Kang Ji Hwan ( 강지환 )
March 20, 1979

Okay, I actually only saw this guy be the main lead just once, but I loved him instantly because he played the part of Hong Gil Dong so well. He was in other series, most of which I haven't seen yet. I do remember seeing him in Save the Last Dance For Me in a supporting role, as the young doctor, Shin Jung Kyu.

Lee Dong Gun (이동건 )
July 26 1980

I first heard one of his songs on the net before I finally associated it with a face, when I first saw him in a the romantic comedy series favorite, Sweet 18, as Kwon Hyuk Joon, a prosecutor arranged to be married to a girl, fresh out of highschool, by his grandfather. He did funny and dramatic and sometimes even action scenes with versitility that sometimes I forget he's a lot younger than the character actors I've chosen. He was in one of my all time favorites too, Lovers in Paris.

What's this? No Joo Ji Hoon ( 주지훈 ) from Goong or my favorite right now, Kim Hyun Joong (김현중 ) of Boys Over Flowers? You know this list is so far from over.... there's still more to come...

To Be Continued....
