I was invited to lunch by a friend, Bunny at a nearby Jolibee and as we waited for our orders, 2 male customers came in who were obviously either pinoys or half-pinoys. I think they were younger than both of us, and were good-looking to me anyway, which Bunny thought otherwise, well, according to her the term, good-looking is far too "general" and too think these 2 guys were not identical twins but 2 different people...
"Cute or Handsome" she suddenly asked me. I was like "What do you mean cute or handsome? What is this? Kind of a Boxers or Briefs? question?" I find it rather silly that she wanted me to compare two guys we don't even know.
"We are WOMEN..." she said. "... if MEN look so do WE! Which one do you prefer between those two? The cute or the handsome one?"
I told her I would choose neither... just because she caught me off guard, honestly those two looked more than just presentable to me. She was right in saying one is handsome and one is just cute. But if I were to pick between them, I'd settle for the cute one... why?
For one thing, cute are more "approachable" than the handsome ones (in my opinion) Handsome/Beautiful men and women are "physically intimidating" if placed next to an average or a group of "ordinarily looking people. Second. I prefer "cute" because I'm really not that pretty and it's easier for me to be cute like must of the average people are.
To me being handsome is indeed a plus, as far is "attraction" is concerned especially between a guy and a girl. But being with an attractive guy also meant picking up unnecessary attention from other third or even fourth party which could or would eventually "wake up" the green-eyed monster in every partner! It doesn't matter if one's the jealous type or not, at one point of a relationship or another, one would eventually feel "jealous" (of course the type and degree of jealousy a person experiences varies per person) from time to time.
But one thing I'm sure of, cute or handsome, it's all just superficial way of labeling some kind of preference between two different people.
BOTH WORKS FOR ME, "CUTE" IS ENOUGH TO SATISFY ME...
"JUST AVERAGE" IS ALSO OK.
