What can I say? What comes around goes around, I guess as it is now our block's turn to experience a blackout! Yes! The power outage started about 2-3 am this morning and it lasted till about 12 pm today. I called my sister at work today and told her all about it and had quite a laugh! (LOL!)
But due to the sudden power outage, my desktop (that I left on because I was downloading something on bitorrent) suffered a sudden power surge after the power came back on got damaged and I couldn't turn it back on the normal way. As it turns out, my hard drive seemed okay but the operating system got blown away, so I had no chose but to do an emergency reformat of my primary hard drive.
I actually consider myself still lucky because I was still able to get inside my hard drive on "safe mode" and transfer most of my important files to my external drive (Thank God, it was big enough.)
I reformatted the hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7 on it but after it's installation I learned that a lot of my deskstop's hardware/software drivers didn't work with Windows 7 so I had to do another reformat of the same drive and bring Vista back. Hopefully, I'll have everything back and running by tomorrow so that I could do some more catching up.
If there was one thing I couldn't probably save, it's my sims 3 family (I lost them again!) I save the files but I don't know if it would still work after reinstalling the game. We'll just have to wait and see....
