Bad News... Good News...(Part 1)

I'm back with some good news and bad news. So which one should go first? Good or bad? I'd rather go with the bad news first, since it's much more memorable and historic than what is really just good news to me.

We just saw in the news, about the passing of the Philippines' First Woman President Corazon C. Aquino. It was said that she passed away August 1, 3:18 am (Manila Time) after a long battle with colon cancer. Reguar programming on TFC and GMA Pinoy TV were all preempted with special news cooverages of her legacy, death and funeral proceedings. It actually ruined my afternoon drama recording schedule for both channels but I guess that's nothing compared to the tributes and accolades she truly deserves. In my opinion, she is one of two past Philippine presidents who did a very good job as a president. (the other one is Ramon Magsaysay.)

In coincidence of her passing, here's a prayer written by her floating all over the net as a tribute to her and pray for her soul and peaceful rest.

The Prayer for a Happy Death.
written by Corazon C. Aquino

Almighty God, most merciful Father
You alone know the time
You alone know the hour
You alone know the moment
When I shall breathe my last.

So, remind me each day,
most loving Father
To be the best that I can be.
To be humble, to be kind,
To be patient, to be true.
To embrace what is good,
To reject what is evil,
To adore only You.

When the final moment does come
Let not my loved ones grieve for long.
Let them comfort each other
And let them know
how much happiness
They brought into my life.
Let them pray for me,
As I will continue to pray for them,
Hoping that they will always pray
for each other.

Let them know that they made possible
Whatever good I offered to our world.
And let them realize that our separation
Is just for a short while
As we prepare for our reunion in eternity.

Our Father in heaven,
You alone are my hope.
You alone are my salvation.
Thank you for your unconditional love,
Amen.

The next post should be the good news...
